A aplicação da gestão de riscos (GR), ao longo das fases de empreendimentos da construção civil, é influenciada pela forma como os participantes-chave se relacionam. O IPD (Integrated Project Delivery) ou Desenvolvimento Integrado de Empreendimentos constitui-se num conjunto de princípios voltados para a colaboração e o compartilhamento de riscos e resultados. Neste trabalho, avaliou-se a influência da aplicação dos princípios do IPD sobre a GR de empreendimentos da construção civil. Para tanto, foi realizada uma revisão da literatura sobre os temas e sua relação, seguida de levantamento, mediante a aplicação de questionário junto a profissionais atuantes no setor. Verificou-se que o cruzamento entre GR e IPD constitui uma temática pouco explorada por outras pesquisas. Os resultados da pesquisa de campo indicaram: nível de conhecimento básico sobre GR; aplicação da GR de forma pouco consistente nas organizações; e algumas premissas do IPD já foram experimentadas por uma parcela dos respondentes. A comunicação aberta, direta e honesta e o envolvimento contínuo dos participantes contribuem relevantemente para a GR, e a participação antecipada da construtora pode favorecer a gestão de custos e a exequibilidade. Identificou-se a falta de conhecimento como a barreira mais relevante para a aplicação da GR nas organizações. Conclui-se que a aplicação do IPD resulta, principalmente, na diminuição da exposição aos riscos de empreendimentos do setor.

The interplay of IPD and BIM: a systematic literature review

Purpose Integrated project delivery (IPD) and building information modeling (BIM) have been discussed as prominent collaborative concepts in recent architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) literature, thus recommended for more advanced value creation. However, they have been studied predominantly as discrete even though they are typically highly interrelated. This study aims to enhance collaboration in AEC projects by tracing recent trends in IPD and BIM literature by making sense of trends and by exploring how their interplay has been discussed and conceptualized. Design/methodology/approach This systematic literature review draws on Scopus and Web of Science as the primary databases. In total, 120 academic papers and review articles were sourced. Yet, the final sample includes 71 sources from the past decade (2011–2020), focusing on both IPD and BIM. Findings This study identifies 11 interrelated and overlapping themes that are indicative of trends in the recent IPD and BIM literature. This research found that among the identified themes, the clusters of sustainability, transformation and increasing the competence level of staff in the AEC industry, in addition to the concept of quality, require more extensive research in the context of IPD and BIM. Additionally, this study identifies four different approaches to the interplay of IPD and BIM, indicating an absence of scholarly consistency. Originality/value Based on the systematic analysis of the recent literature, this study indicates that IPD and BIM have several joint fundamental cornerstones. It is evident that both concepts support the implementation of each other. The success of implementing either one is strongly related to the other. Additionally, we have not found earlier systematic literature reviews that examine the interplay between IPD and BIM in the recent AEC literature.
