Failures and Prediction Methods of Lateral Buckling Strength of H-Shaped Beams Connected by Flush End Plates

Abstract: In this paper, the experiment of the full scale specimen and the nonlinear FEM analysis have been conducted to obtain the behavior of H-shaped beam connected by the flush end plates which fall into the connection failures or the lateral buckling. As a result, the intensities of restraint of the beam ends are reduced by the end plates deformation, and then the lateral buckling strengths of the beams are reduced by the deformation.
