Abstract

The persistent challenges posed by counterfeiting in the sneaker industry necessitate innovative solutions that outpace the limitations of previously employed database systems. Traditional approaches, often reliant on centralized databases, struggle to provide the necessary transparency, security, and traceability required to combat the sophisticated nature of counterfeit operations. The proposed work introduces a paradigm shift in the fight against counterfeit sneakers, presenting a Blockchain-Based QR Code and Barcode System as a groundbreaking alternative to conventional database systems. Unlike centralized databases susceptible to manipulation, blockchain technology ensures a decentralized and tamper-resistant ledger for each sneaker, establishing an unparalleled level of security and authenticity. In contrast to legacy systems, the proposed solution leverages the efficiency of wireless technology, QR codes, and barcodes to create a robust and userfriendly authentication mechanism. By linking these identifiers directly to the blockchain, manufacturers can guarantee the unique identity and provenance of each product, mitigating the risks associated with counterfeit trade.
