Abstract:A 39-year-old woman showed nonsustained polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (PVT) during light physical activity. Cardiac multidetector row computed tomography demonstrated false tendons, one of which proved to be the focus triggering premature ventricular contraction (PVC) in electrophysiological studies. The triggered PVC arose during the diastolic period, which might have caused tension in the false tendon. Radiofrequency catheter ablation targeting the triggered PVC by pace mapping was performed and proved… Show more
“…There have been reports of false tendon–related VT with polymorphic 7 or narrow QRS tachycardia morphology 8 . Our case exhibited multiple monomorphic VTs.…”

“…Betsuyaku et al. described polymorphic tachycardia thought to be related to premature ventricular contractions triggered by FT stretch . The region of a FT has also been described as a successful ablation site for eliminating focal automatic tachycardia and focal ectopic beats, including cases that display a relatively narrow tachycardia QRS on electrocardiogram …”
Presence of FTs did not differ between ILVT patients and controls. While FTs are not absolutely required for ILVT, they may still play a role in some cases.
“…The left ventricular anomalous band or false tendon has been reported to cause specific types of ventricular arrhythmias 5, 6. However, the clinical significance of the LA anomalous band is less clear, probably owing to its rare prevalence and difficulty in finding it by echocardiography.…”
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
