FaPEx® Multipesticide Residues Extraction Kit for Minimizing Sample Preparation Time in Agricultural Produce

Abstract: Background: The quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe method, generally applied to the determination of pesticide residues in food, has been recently modified and adopted for the analysis of pesticide residues worldwide, including Taiwan. Objective: The method still needs to be improved, particularly in efficiency and normalization, because the time costs 20–30 min for extraction and cleanup of multiple pesticides in every food. Methods: In this study, we present a highly efficient and simple sample… Show more

“…Fast pesticide extraction (FaPEx) is a method used to extract pesticide residues in agricultural samples by using single-use prefilled sealed cartridges; this method is innovative, simple, and fast and is a simplified version of the QuEChERS method that is based on the same principles [ 18 ]. We have developed a FaPEx technique coupled with ultra-HPLC (UHPLC)-MS/MS to simultaneously analyze the levels of targeted BPs in the present study.…”

“…The FaPEx technique was developed by the Taiwan Agricultural Chemicals and Toxic Substances Research Institute and authorized by Uni-Onward. The major components involved in FaPEx are MgSO 4 , PSA, C18, and graphitized carbon black [ 20 ]. FaPEx is an easy technique, and it has a short extraction time (<5 min) and produces remarkably low amounts of waste solvents and chemicals.…”

“…However, some methods are limited in terms of instrument sensitivity or the number of BPs that can be simultaneously analyzed.
