FCSIP: Fuzzy and Cluster Based SIP Protocol for MANET

Abstract: Mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) can be defined as a network that is dynamically formed from randomly located mobile devices. SIP protocol allows two remote parties to initiate a call using centralized entities such as a proxy and location registrar. In order to enable the usage of an inherently centralized protocol such as SIP over a distributed environment such as MANET a lot of adaptation should be considered. This paper presents FCSIP, an adapted and semi distributed SIP protocol that works over clustered MAN… Show more

“…It was claimed that such implementation would perform better than the fully-distributed SIP protocol over MANETs. (Almobaideen et al 2014) In 2015, we presented a solution addressing the scalability limitation in a domain-based distribution of SIP services. We used a dynamic clustering to maximize the usage of resources to facilitate the deployment of SIP over MANETs.…”

“…A secure cluster‐based SIP service over ad hoc network is presented in , which is designed to eliminate the inherent limitations of centralized approaches and reduce the overheads associated with fully distributed approaches. In , the authors propose a semi‐distributed SIP protocol using clustered MANETs, where a new role for SIP server was introduced. In the approach, the SIP server also acts as a cluster‐head for discovery servers.…”
