Fe3O4 Nanoparticles for Complex Targeted Delivery and Boron Neutron Capture Therapy

Abstract: Magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) and their surface modification with therapeutic substances are of great interest, especially drug delivery for cancer therapy, including boron-neutron capture therapy (BNCT). In this paper, we present the results of boron-rich compound (carborane borate) attachment to previously aminated by (3-aminopropyl)-trimethoxysilane (APTMS) iron oxide NPs. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy with Attenuated total reflectance accessory (ATR-FTIR) and energy-dispersive X-ray analysis… Show more

“…Materials in nanoform are very important at the moment, because they can have electronic properties that are more attractive than their bulk counterparts. Lately, many works have been devoted to obtaining and studying the properties of ferrites in nanoform [10][11][12][13][14]. In addition, magnetic materials are also of interest in nanoscale magnetic phase separation.…”

“…Nonetheless, the principal focus is on enhancing the dielectric and magnetic properties. Within the recent past, however, the developments of the three-phase dielectric, dielectric and magnetic polymer polymers offer further choices on the design and expansion of the material application, like those utilized within the sensors and inductor capacitors [33][34][35][36][37][38].The weather-shed of out of doors insulators and cable terminators is typically employed by polymeric insulation materials like epoxy and polyethene. Additionally, to their other uses in modern technology, epoxy resins are commonly used as suitable matrices, as they supply flexibility, low shrinking, additives, high dielectric properties, and excellent adhesion.…”

“…E: carboranyl nucleosides [42]. F: boron-containing nanoparticles [44] compounds indicated above, third-generation agents including one or more polyhedral anions of borane or carboranes have been investigated [30]. The stable boron delivery agents with low and high molecular weight connected with a tumor-targeting component or moiety via a hydrolytically stable linkage (boron carriers) belong to this group of compounds ( Figure 2).…”
