“…A simple drop casting the ionophore solution over 11‐MUA self assembled monolayer immobilized gold surface for 10 min. at room temperature signifies a fast, facile and low cost sensor fabrication for lithium as compared to earlier reports on EC sensing of lithium [13, 14, 21, 22]. Electrochemical behavior of modified gold sensor electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to understand the interfacial host‐guest binding and its effect on charge transfer properties of redox probe in solution.…”

“…Alkali metal ions are known to form stable complexes with crown ethers due to the close fit of cation to the crown cavity and a nearly planar arrangement of oxygen atoms around the central cation [6]. Among 12‐, 13‐ and 14‐ crown ethers, dibenzyl‐14 crown‐4 has been the most preferred lithium ionophore used in fabrication of potentiometric ISEs [7–9], potentiometric devices with CNTs [10, 11] and voltammetric ISEs [12–14]. Electrochemical (EC) sensors giving a current response directly proportional to analyte concentration are more popular for detecting small changes in analyte concentration as compared to usual potentiometric ISE, which gives a potential response proportional to the logarithm of analyte activity [12].…”

“…Ferrocene is more electroactive, so ferrocene/ferrocenium redox couple can easily be monitored by voltammetric measurements. A variety of ferrocene‐based sensors including amides and triazoles, boronic esters were performed for the detection of hydrogenphosphate, chiral carboxylate, peroxides, benzoate, and fluoride anions . In addition, ferrocene based optoelectronic devices are the most popular research areas last decades .…”

“…In future work, it might be possible to design a new, dynamic type of monolayer coating which provides tactile stimuli in addition to its role as a protectant. For example, monolayers can be used to transport charge, [81] undergo photoinduced isomerization, [82] participate in redox reactions, [83] and acquire charge by contact electrification. [84] Given the sensitivity of human participants to minute forces generated at surfaces, it is possible that exploitation of some of these molecular phenomena may lead to haptic effects unavailable to bulk materials.…”
