Abstract:Background
Serum Fibroblast Growth factor 23 (FGF23) level has been found to be elevated in AKI through multiple previous studies. Moreover, higher FGF23 level was associated with mortality and adverse outcomes in critically ill patients and patients undergoing cardiac surgery who developed acute kidney injury (AKI) suggesting that FGF23 can have a prognostic value in AKI.
