Abstract

Fibromyalgia is a syndrome characterised by chronic widespread pain, often associated with symptoms other than pain, such as fatigue, sleep disturbances, morning stiffness, anxiety and depression (Wolfe et al., 1990). It is a disease with a very high prevalence in the world population, estimated to reach 5% of the population (Siracusa et al., 2021). Diagnosis is based on clinical criteria.
