Filling the gaps between model predictions and their prerequisites in electric dipole moments

Abstract: We clarify the conditions or assumptions under which theoretical predictions of various models beyond the standard model give mainly in electric dipole moments. The correct interpretation of those conditions seems to be indispensable to the refinements of model building as well as to the mutual reliance in experimental and theoritical communities. The connections of these analyses to the recent experimental results at the LHC and the other places are also discussed.

“…where we have used the PCAC assertion in the fourth equality, and 0|qq|0 ≈ − m 2 π f 2 π mu+m d . Here it is important to remark that the direct contribution is enhanced by the scalar density of the light quarks N |ūu +dd|N ∼ O(10), and is as large as that of the pion pole (116). The renormalization scale of 0|qq|0 and N |qq|N is taken as µ = 3 GeV.…”

“…Unfortunately such models, except for the few predictive ones, have so many undetermined parameters and we should be careful about under what assumptions such and such predictions have been made. On this point one can refer to Ref [116]. for more detailed clarification.…”
