Abstract:In China, about 500 Puccinia species have been discovered, with over 200 species distributed in Shaanxi province. In 2023, a rust disease of Alcea rosea was discovered in Shaanxi Province, China, and the pathogen was identified as Puccinia modiolae through morphological characterization and phylogenetic analysis. This is the first documented report of rust disease on A. rosea caused by P. modiolae in China.
