“…In this study, the use of a flush solution containing FK506 reduced liver graft injury, and the graft recovered functions earlier. In a rat intestinal transplantation model, intravenous FK506 pretreatment improved intestinal graft microcirculation by inhibiting the activation of NF-κB and the transcription of intercellular adhesive molecule-1 [6]. However, in this study, FK506 had a direct protective effect on mesenteric arterial smooth muscle contraction in SBT.…”

“…There have been several studies regarding the protective effect of FK506 on I/R injury of the small intestine [5,6] and various organs [4,[13][14][15]. A study of the effect of a flush solution containing FK506 has been reported in human liver transplantation [4].…”

“…Previous reports suggested that HSP70 may be induced by CsA and FK506 in vitro and in vivo (10,11) and thereby inhibit expression of inflammation-associated genes in some cell types (7)(8)(9). We hypothesized that CsA and FK506 could attenuate cytokine responses via induction of HSP70.…”

“…Other investigators also reported that overexpression of HSP70 attenuated release of cytokines by fibroblasts under oxidative stress conditions (9). On the other hand, it is known that HSP70 may be induced and augmented by CsA and FK506 in vitro and in vivo (10,11). We hypothesized that CsA and FK506 could attenuate responses of nonlymphoid cells to inflammatory stimuli via induction of the HSP70 family of molecules.…”
