There is archaeological evidence (Gomes and Gomes, 2015;Grenier et al, 1994) of cultivation techniques (coppicing and pollarding) used elsewhere that would have been common knowledge and very likely used in Venice too to increase the quantities and quality of the wood grown. The Venetian production line then began in the forests.…”
