Abstract:Flat optics of uniform phase gradient metasurfaces based on the generalized Snell’s law has been extensively studied. The optics of nonuniform phase gradient metasurfaces (NPGMs) is less clear. Here based on Huygens’ principle and finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulation, we explore the optical properties of NPGMs made of nanorods (meta-atoms), which can be tuned by modulation of propagation phase and geometric phase. It is found that the nonuniformity of phase gradient may lead to multichannel anomalous … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
