Fluid-Attenuated Inversion Recovery Hyperintense Vessels Due to Septic Shock

Abstract: Hyperintense vessels on fluid-attenuated inversion recovery magnetic resonance imaging (FLAIR MRI) are commonly observed in acute ischemic stroke, especially when accompanied by large vessel stenosis or occlusion. A 41-year-old man presented with cellulitis and enterocolitis. Despite extensive antibiotic therapy, his condition rapidly deteriorated to septic shock.
