“…However, cases with benign disease are not truly negative controls. In particular, EH, a benign lesion, is highly positive in 5ALA-PDD [13]; therefore, it cannot be ruled out that such lesions influenced the sensitivity and specificity of the results. Moreover, we excluded patients with BMI >30 kg/m 2 .…”

“…Furthermore, 5ALA-PDD color analysis allows objective PDD assessment using a predictive formula; it increased diagnostic specificity without a marked decrease in sensitivity. Although 5ALA-PDD is used in clinical practice and studies [16−20], there are few reports of hysteroscopic 5ALA-PDD [13]. To our knowledge, this study is the first to evaluate the diagnostic sensitivity and specificity of hysteroscopic resection guided by 5ALA-PDD for AEH and EC.…”

“…Bronchial malignancies can be used as an example [ 55 ]. Tumors that have shown higher specificity and have the potential to be detected with 5-ALA PDD are as follows: oral and larynx cancer [ 61 , 62 ], intracranial meningioma and metastasis, prostate cancer [ 63 ], upper and urinary tract tumors [ 64 ], hepatocyte cancer, gastric cancer [ 54 , 55 ], endometrium cancer [ 65 ], ovarian cancer [ 66 ] and peritoneal carcinomatosis [ 54 ]. Different types of cancer in the same location may differ in 5-ALA-PDD visualization.…”
