Flux Deviating Technique to Enhance the Total Magnetic Flux Density in the Fluid Flow Gap of a Monotube Single Coil MR Damper

Abstract: Magneto-Rheological (MR) fluids having the magnetic field dependent viscosity is responsible for the variable damping coefficient of MR dampers. The energy dissipated by the MR damper has a direct influence of the total magnetic flux density in the fluid flow gap. The total magnetic flux density is a function of geometric, material property and operating condition.
