Food Origin Traceability from a Consumer’s Perspective

Abstract: The awareness of food origin in the consumers’ perspective has gradually become more significant not only in reference to consumers from highly developed countries but also from emerging ones, which are already on their way from a developing to developed economy. “…The degree of association between the pillars of the FII and the ICRI is analysed by constructing contingency tables, a method that dates back to the work by Gale and Shapley (1962) and Becker (1973). In the field of food security or food poverty, several studies have applied the Chi-square test to identify the association between variables in a contingency table (Al-Shabib et al, 2017;Bui & Hoang, 2021;D'Amico et al, 2018;Djekic et al, 2017;Marti et al, 2021;Walaszczyk & Galinska, 2020).…”

“…Contingency tables provide essential information to demonstrate associations between qualitative variables. Food safety has been investigated using the test of cross-tabulation to identify relationships between variables ( Al-Shabib et al, 2017 ; D’Amico et al, 2018 ; Walaszczyk & Galinska, 2020 ). Cluster analysis was used to group EU countries according to their notification behaviour with respect to product category or notification type.…”
