Food Waste

Abstract: Food waste is more than just an unwarranted economic and environmental problem. Food waste provides information on societal values, norms, and beliefs through the classification of what is and what is not considered food waste. This entry discusses the evolution of the “hidden” practice of food waste, and how different conceptions and theories of food waste have emerged over the last 50 years.
