Form-Stable Phase Change Material with Wood-Based Materials as Support

Abstract: Building shape-stable phase change materials (PCMs) are crucial for their practical applications. Particularly, it is vital to utilize renewable/recyclable biomass media as the support material of form-stable PCMs. In this review article, we summarized the recent developments for building form-stable PCMs consisting of wood as a supporting material, either carbonized wood or wood composites. Moreover, the electrothermal conversion and photothermal conversion of form-stable PCMs based on carbonized wood are als… Show more

“…In conclusion, the MWCNT displayed a rod-like structure marked by red-dotted circles. Therefore, MWCNT was uniformly dispersed in the PEG-PMMA base and generated strong intermolecular interactions with the PEG-PMMA [24]. Moreover, the FESEM examination of PEG-PMMA/MWCNT (NePCM) composite demonstrates the effective incorporation of MWCNT nanoparticles into PEG-PMMA matrix, as shown by the presence of rod-shaped structures (Fig 2e).…”

“…A notable example of the on-campus activities of the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) may be seen in their engagement with Imran Khan during his visit to Punjab University. According to Hanif (2007), Imran Khan, the head of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI), was apprehended on November 14th near the university's recently established campus. The incident included alleged detention and physical mistreatment by Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) militants, who represent the student faction of Jamaat-i-Islami.…”

“…The occurrence in question gave rise to divergent assertions, as IJT denied extending an invitation to Khan and shifted blame onto the university administration, while PTI officials attributed responsibility to IJT and censured the leadership of Jamaat-i-Islami for their lack of intervention. The occurrence highlighted the existing conflicts between political elites and student organisations inside Pakistan's educational institutions (Hanif, 2007).…”

“…Another challenge of using PCMs is their potential for leakage during process of shifting of its phase from solid to liquid [9]. To make the composite leakage proof, researchers have developed shape-stabile PCMs (ss-PCMs), which are composite materials that combine a PCM with a porous supporting matrix [10]. The supporting matrix helps to contain the liquid PCM and block leakage during the phase change process.…”
