Formal approach to the solution of the complex-spectra identification problem. 2. implementation

Abstract: The second part of a work devoted to a method of automation of the spectra identification process is presented. Important aspects of the problem concerning description and specification of uncertainties and correlations of the data and making use of some additional restraints and routines are discussed. Great possibilities of the developed method, both (i) for analyzing spectra using ab initio calculations of energy levels for the configurations of one parity and known other-parity configurations and (ii) for … Show more

“…The 4d 3 energies were calculated in the framework of the orthogonal parameters by extrapolation from Ag VII and Ag VIII (Table A12) and used as an input to Cowan's calculations of the 4d 3 -(4d 2 5p + 4d 2 4f + 4p 5 4d 4 ) transition probabilities. Thus predicted energy levels and transition probabilities were then used for the spectrum analysis by the IDEN code [12]. As a result, 132 lines were identified in the 4d 3 -(4d 2 5p + 4d 2 4f + 4p 5 4d 4 ) transition array (Table A4).…”

“…Recently in [19,20], the identification of rovibronic lines of three singlet VUV band systems of D 2 has been obtained by common use of semi-empiric calculations (of the levels and the transition probabilities) together with the program IDEN [21,22] developed for visual identification of complex atomic spectra. Although the approach seems to be a rather powerful and prospective tool for finding new assignments in the spectra of hydrogen isotopomers, the final results of [19,20] can not be considered as optimal values of the rovibronic energy levels for the D 1 Π u , D ′1 Π u , and B ′1 Σ u electronic states studied in [19,20].…”

“…All parameters of the other unknown configurations were kept at the Hartree-Fock values. Thus, the predicted spectrum was used for the identification of the Sn VI lines with the aid of the IDEN code [9].…”

“…The five times ionized tin has the ground state configuration 4d 9 . The resonance 4d 9 -4d 8 5p transitions and the transitions between first excited configurations 4d 8 5s and 4d 8 5p were studied in [1,2].…”
