Formulation of Isoniazide Sustained Release Formulation by Using Carbopol 934 P

Abstract: ABSTRACT:The aim of the present study was to develop sustained release formulation of Isoniazide to maintain constant therapeutic levels of the drug for over 12 hrs. Various polymers such as Guar gum, HPMCK100 M, PEG 6000 and Carbopol 934 p were employed as polymers. Isoniazide dose was fixed as 100 mg. Total weight of the tablet was considered as 400 mg. Polymers were used in the concentration of 100, 150 and 200 mg. All the formulations passed various physicochemical evaluation parameters and they were found… Show more

“…As a result, less water is reabsorbed from the collecting ducts, boosting urine output by increasing the osmolarity in the lumen. It is frequently used to treat hypertension, congestive heart failure, symptoms of edema, and to prevent kidney stones [12][13][14][15][16][17].…”

“…This delivery system is of prime attention because of increased bioavailability, penetration, ease of self-administration i.e noninvasive delivery of therapeutic agent, no hepatic rst-pass metabolism and better patient compliance [2]. Various transdermal delivery systems have been investigated for improving drug penetration through the skin including nano carrier loaded creams, transdermal patches and micro needle patches [3]. Among these micro needles are of prime importance because of their succesfull and pain free delivery of therapeutic agent in blood stream and nally the target site [4].…”
