Four Element Mimo Dra With High Isolation for Wlan Applications

Abstract: A dielectric resonator (DR) based MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) antenna with enhanced isolation is proposed in this letter. The proposed MIMO antenna consists of four hemispherical shaped dielectric resonator (HDR) radiating at 4.9 GHz. The isolation between two consecutive radiators is enhanced by rotating feeding line of one element at an angle of 180 •. The antenna is studied in terms of S-parameters, gain, envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), channel capacity loss (CCL), and diversity gain (DG).… Show more

“…The CCL should not be more than 0.4 bits/s/Hz for reliable communication. The CCL can be calculated from the formulas mentioned in Equations (6) and (7) [ 31 ]. Figure 21 presents the CCL value, which was considerably below 0.042 bits/s/Hz in both simulation and measurement at the desired communication frequency.…”

“…The calculation method of the parameters is already available in the literature, and a similar method was followed [15,16,26,27]. Table 2 shows a comparison of the proposed antenna with others available in the literature [10,[12][13][14]16,25,[28][29][30]. The comparison table shows the following.…”

“…The anticipated MIMO antenna comprises four Hemispherical shaped Dielectric Resonator (HDR) that radiates at 4.9 GHz. It reveals [17] that there has been a wide and rapid growth in the field of wireless communication systems in the last two decades. Nowadays, every modern wireless equipment is implemented with Wi-Fi.…”
