Abstract: O exame citopatológico é empregado há décadas para o diagnóstico de lesões pré-neoplásicas e neoplásicas do colo uterino e, ainda, como método auxiliar na identificação de alguns tipos de microrganismos causadores de vulvovaginites e cervicites.
