Abstract:Singular spectrum analysis (SSA) is a nonparametric spectral decomposition of a time series. A time series is exactly separated into arbitrary number of additive subsequences with the singular value decomposition. Previously, we have shown that SSA algorithm can equivalently be formulated as an optimality condition for the generation of adaptive filters. In this paper, based on our optimal-filter viewpoint, we show that the spectral weight factor can naturally be introduced into the SSA algorithm. With this ex… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
