Abstract:Objective: In the paper, the authors examine the surfaces of the bovine articular cartilage at varying pH solutions by measuring the friction coefficient.Design: Cartilage pairs with the same sign of charges have been investigated: positively (+/+), negatively (-/-) and neutral (IEP) cartilage surfaces under aqueous buffer solution. Results: We present evidence that the (cartilage/cartilage) pair charged with the identical positive or negative charge density exhibited the same value of the friction coefficient.… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
