Abstract: Osteomyelitis is a bone inflammation that starts as a medullary cavity infection, spreads quickly to the haversian system and periosteum. Can develop in the jaws due to chronic odontogenic infection, trauma, inadequate treatment of fracture, or jaw irradiation. Untreated acute osteomyelitis can become chronic.
