From grassland to forest: the puzzle of land tenure and forest conservation in Costa Rica (1962–2014)

Abstract: This article discusses Costa Rica’s policies and institutions created by the state to redistribute land during the 1960s and 1970s, when Latin American was implementing agrarian reforms.
