Abstract:Estimating 3D structure of the scene from a single image remains a challenging problem in computer vision. This paper proposes a novel approach to obtain a global depth order of objects by incorporating monocular perceptual cues such as T-junctions and object boundary convexity, which are local indicators of occlusions, together with physical cues, namely ground contact points. The proposed combination of these local cues complement each other and creates a more thorough partial depth order relationship. The d… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
