Frustrated crystallization behavior under hierarchical confinement in electrospun fibers of poly(styrene)/poly(ethylene oxide)/poly(l‐lactide) ternary mixtures
Abstract:The crystallization behavior of binary crystalline mixtures composed of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) and poly(l‐lactide) (PLLA) was investigated in the electrospun nanofibers fabricated by the ternary blends of polystyrene (PS), PEO, and PLLA. The weight fraction of PEO/PLLA mixture was kept at ≤0.2 such that PS formed the matrix phase. The preferred mixing of PEO and PLLA resulted in the formation of mixed PEO/PLLA dispersed domains in the PS matrix. The small diameter of the electrospun nanofibers restricted t… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
