Full-Duplex Relay for Enhancing Physical Layer Security in Multi-Hop Relaying Systems

Abstract: In this letter, we consider secure communications in multi-hop relaying systems, where full-duplex relays (FDRs) operate to enhance wireless physical layer security. Each FDR is designed to transmit jamming signals to the eavesdropper when it receives information signals from the previous adjacent node. The achievable secrecy rate with the proposed decode-and-forward (DF) FDRs are analyzed with a total transmit power constraint. The transmit power allocation problem is solved by using the geometric programming… Show more

“…With a network security perspective, calculation of the transmit power allocations for fullduplex relays that are obtained by a sub-optimal approach to maximize the lower bound of the achievable secrecy rate using the geometric programming method is done [58]. To achieve the structured cancellation defined in [59], a transmission strategy for multi-hop full-duplex relay network was proposed that is limited to the situations in which the source-to-relay SNR is higher than the relay-to-destination SNR, and limited to the case that the residual self-interference channel coherence time is short.…”

“…Although FD relay selection [7,8] has been researched in some studies, few of them consider the security constraint. Some research [17][18][19] has analyzed the performance of FD relay on physical layer security, but only one relay was considered instead of FD relay selection. Specifically, in Ref.…”
