B The transition from traditional ion exchange technologies of water desalination to baromembrane technologies is fully justified from the point of view of ecology. Baromembrane technologies are more expensive methods of preparing additional water for thermal power plants. Therefore, it is necessary in each case to assess the feasibility of upgrading individual nodes of the technological scheme of water treatment. This is especially true for thermal power plants with supercritical parameters, since the preparation of additional water of appropriate quality is possible only with the combined use of reverse osmosis and electrodeionization methods or with the combination of reverse osmosis and ion exchange methods.The article considers one of the possible options for choosing the optimal water treatment scheme based on the analysis of water quality after each stage of purification, the costs of introducing new methods of water treatment, the requirements for the qualification of personnel and environmental indicators of the water treatment plant.

“…According to published data, about 40% of coal is being cleaned in South Africa prior combustion in TPP's, India at the moment cleans about 30% of coal with the tendency to reach over 60% in the near future by building new capacities, in Russia about 35% of coal is cleaned, while in China about 25% of coal is subjected to cleaning processes before sending to TPP's (Fedorova et al, 2015;Zhenia, 2013). The paper gives review of international and domestice experience in Serbia in the field of coal cleaning prior to combustion in thermal power plants. Also, the paper highlighted the problem of combustion low rank lignite from open pit mine in thermal power plants and considering this problem from the aspect of mineral processing. The results of laboratory tests aimed to establish the possibility of cleaning of lignite from Tamnava Zapadno polje, showed the beneficial upgrading of the 70% of run-of-mine coal with simple screening. It has been confirmed that by simple process of coal cleaning can be removed about 30% of tailings, which mostly consist of mineral impurities. The final obtained products have satisfactory quality (lower contents of ash and higher calorific values).

The paper is devoted to study of energy-technological complex (ETC) based on coal-powered TPP using methods of system analysis. The concept of the full-cycle ETC is presented. The zonal structure of ETC is considered. The place of ETC in the systematical classification is determined. The interpretation of system-wide principles is investigated applied to the TPP and ETC. The application of system analysis methods allows to predict the directions of ETC development.
