Abstract: Fungal infections are diseases affecting the skin and subcutaneous tissue. They include common conditions such as dermatophytosis or ringworm, Malassezia infection and superficial Candida infection. Subcutaneous fungal infections are now amongst the conditions classified as neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) or skin NTDs.
