The main therapy during the study period was surgery (total hysterectomy with bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy and surgical biopsies from suspect extra-genital lesions) with or without preoperative brachytherapy (Heyman's capsules according to the Stockholm method (Kjellgren and Jonsson, 1965).
