Fuzzy AHP approach for barriers to implement LSS in the context of Industry 4.0

Abstract: PurposeThe purpose of the present work is identification and prioritization of barriers to Lean Six Sigma (LSS) implementation in Indian manufacturing industries in the context of Industry 4.0 (I4.0) to surmount the impediments in the path of successful implementation.Design/methodology/approachIn total, 27 barriers identified through critical review of literature and expert's opinion are evaluated with Cronbach's alpha values including item-total correlations or corrected item-total correlations (CITC) using … Show more

“…By automating processes, Industry 4.0 technology and LSS in manufacturing reduce Lean waste. Streamlining the procedure or workflow, as well as decentralization, virtualization, adaptability, personalization and sustainability will reduce variations and inefficiencies (Ranjith Kumar et al, 2022). In this analysis, bibliometric analysis was adopted to identify and gather LSS 4.0 and its related papers from two recognized databases, Scopus and WoS, between the years 2011 and 2022.…”

“…Therefore, to fill the research gap in the domain of LSS 4.0, in addition to the bibliometric analysis, a conceptual framework of LSS 4.0 was developed by emphasizing the aspects of ergonomics/human factors, sustainability and operational impact. The importance of this framework is also highlighted in various recommendations and suggestions given by various researchers (Ranjith Kumar et al, 2022;Yilmaz et al, 2022).…”
