Gamma Splines and Wavelets

Abstract: In this work we introduce a new family of splines termed as gamma splines for continuous signal approximation and multiresolution analysis. The gamma splines , ( ) = − , ≥ 0 are born by ( + 1)-times convolution of the exponential − by itself. We study the properties of the discrete gamma splines in signal interpolation and approximation. We prove that the gamma splines obey the two-scale equation based on the polyphase decomposition. to introduce the shift invariant gamma spline wavelet transform for tree stru… Show more

“…As ligands of sterol regulated transcription factors, oxysterols control gene expression in lipid metabolism, regulate immune and inflammatory responses, and modify cellular calcium signaling by acting at transcriptional, translational-and post-translational level. A number of key proteins implicated in the control of metabolic homeostasis are recognized targets of oxysterol signaling [85][86][87][88][89]. Of note, by acting as a "sink" to safely store harmful cholesterol metabolites, AT plays a key role in regulating the trafficking of oxysterols and peroxidation by-products, action that appears beneficial for preserving glucose homeostasis [90][91][92].…”

“…During the war, the Finnish schlager gained official approval as part of the entertainment to boost morale at the front. 136 The proportion of annual recordings of dance music grew rapidly in the early 1930s. It first amounted to some 50 per cent, but from 1932 onwards to over 90 per cent.…”
