However, an improvement in detecting gaps in noise up to 10-11 years (Buss, Porter, Hall, & Grose, 2017;Irwin et al, 1985) or in the 7-10 age range with a greater variability of the results in younger than older kids, has been also demonstrated (Lister et al, 2011).
