Abstract:A sensor and dosimeter specific to inorganic and organic amine bases composed of Rhodamine B dissolved in Nafion is prepared and evaluated. UV-vis, emission, and IR spectroscopies are used to monitor the presence of a variety of analytes, including aliphatic and aromatic amines. The Rhodamine B serves as a visual indicator of the presence of an analyte by turning from brown to pink upon exposure to aliphatic amines after sufficient exposure, thus acting as a visual monitor. The Rhodamine B also acts as a fluor… Show more
“…The adsorption of L on the Naon coated MWCNTs surface was supported by the IR spectra of L and the L/MWCNTs/Naon nanocomposite. The IR spectrum of pure Naon reported earlier 33 showed peaks between 2500 and 3700 cm À1 which were attributed to water and sulfonic acid present in the Naon pores. The peak observed at 1634 cm À1 was assigned to the -OH bending vibration whereas the peaks at 1452 cm À1 and 1057 cm À1 were assigned to the C-F stretching and ether groups present in Naon.…”

“…The crude MWCNTs were puried and treated to acquire a negative charge using a method reported earlier with some modications. 33 Naon solution (1 mL, 1.1%) was prepared by diluting it with triple distilled water followed by the dispersion of 0.5 mg of puried MWCNTs in 50 mL Naon solution and was then ultrasonicated for half an hour to make a homogeneous solution of MWCNTs/Naon. This solution (5 mL) was then drop cast on a cleaned GCE and was allowed to air dry for 1 hour.…”

“…The IR spectrum of MWCNTs/Naon was observed as reported earlier. 26,33 The peak observed at 1452 cm À1 is assigned to the C-F stretching vibration which was shied to 1432 cm À1 . It supported the interaction of hydrophobic peruorocarbon chain with MWCNTs.…”

“…31 Naon has been reported as an effective exchanger for different metal complexes, but the rate of electron transfer is very slow in the Naon lm alone. 26 The porous structure of Naon provides an entry point for analytes and nano-sized hydrophilic pockets can act as the accumulation volume 33 and the electron transfer rate of Naon is improved in the presence of CNTs. Herein, we have incorporated a synthesized derivative of ferrocene, ferrocenoyl glutaric acid hydrazone (designated as L) into MWCNTs and Naon to increase the electron shuttle.…”
A nanocomposite containing ferrocenoyl glutaric acid hydrazone and multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) has been synthesized and characterized for its structural, morphological and electrochemical properties.

“…The role of both gelatin and Ce dopant on the structure of ZrO 2 nanopowders as well as the correlation between the structure and properties of the prepared samples has been established. Taking into account the nowadays tendency in sensor development to find new materials and sensor platforms [26], Rhodamine B dye has been used as fluorescent detector in order to establish the possibility of application of the prepared materials in the sensors domain.…”
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
