Abstract:In this paper, we propose a gear-like metallic core fiber for the generation of a radially polarized mode based on the significant attenuation loss for different transverse modes and a mode reversion mechanism. The mode extinction ratio higher than 40 dB is obtained within 1 cm of such fiber. Our design offers a potential way to obtain a radially polarized beam efficiently.Index Terms-polarization-selective devices, radially polarized beam, fiber design.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
