Geese selection for body weight growth rate

Abstract: The study has been carried out for lind geese breed in “Vurnarets” LRS in Chuvashia Republic. Combined selection has been the main method of poultry meat quality improvement that is selection in families in combination with individual selection. Gosling body weight increasing by 29.3% at slaughter age has become the result of work during 11 years. Feed consumption for 1 kg of body weight gain has lowered by 19.6% and gosling yield from layer has increased by 2.8 goslings or 10.2% when relatively stable traits … Show more
