Abstract:Gene therapy in cartilage damageDamaged cartilage has a limited power of regeneration. Although present surgical approaches are often effective, they can't restore articular cartilage to its normal structure. Cartilage regeneration can be stimulated by gene transfer using vectors. Early studies show how gene therapy is a promising but feasible tool to repair cartilage damage.
