Generation Control of A Wind Farm With Variable Speed Wind Turbines For High Power Quality

Abstract: This paper presents a method to maximize the power generated from a 3-turbine wind farm, and supply it to the grid with high power quality. Different control methods are applied to each subsystem; generation, aggregation, and finally grid connection. The control goal in the generation subsystem is to extract maximum wind power below rated wind speed, and to limit the power above rated wind speed.
