“…The use of high density SNP array screening for a whole population is the most efficient way of mapping QTLs but it is highly expensive. Thus, in order to reduce the cost, we used a small population for screening with a 90K SNP array as described by Wang ( 2014 ), where a population of 40 RILs was employed to verify QTLs with PVEs of 20–30% on specific chromosomes based on the marker density at 5 cM.
