“…In the present study, the highest estimates of broad sense heritability (more than 60 %) coupled with high genetic advance as % of mean (more than 20 %) indicate that most likely the broad sense heritability is due to additive gene effects and hence selection may be effective for the improvement of traits viz., plant height, number of primary and secondary branches, stem girth, number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width, leaf thickness, corolla tube length, bud girth and flower diameter (Table 5 and 6). This result is in accordance with the findings of black gram (14).
