Abstract: BackgroundLiver cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk factors include chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis, and alcohol abuse, whereby tumorigenesis is induced through inflammation and subsequent fibrotic response.
