Abstract

ANALYTICAL CHEMISTRYburgh, a lecture on Modern Methods of Analysis in the Training of the Student" was presented by Christina C. Miller.The broad background against which the student must be taught was described, and the question of what the student should be taught was discussed. The training at Edinburgh University of the potential honors graduate was then outlined, with particular reference to the inorganic side, the lecturer's own domain.Simple apparatus used by students for semimicroqualitative analysis, and for a few microquantitative experiments, was shown. The lecture was illustrated by slides.The 40th meeting of the Physical Methods Group was held April 14 in London.
