The giant colonic diverticulum has been variously termed solitary or giant air cyst [3, 5, 6, 16], giant gas cyst [7,20], giant sigmoid diverticulum [2,8,12,13,21,22], giant diverticulum of the sigmoid colon [4,10,11], and giant colonic diverticulum [9]. Although most GCD are located in the sigmoid colon, they have also been described in the transverse colon [14] and descending colon [1,9].…”
