Gibt es eine einheitliche Frame- Konzeption? Historisch-systematische Perspektiven

Abstract

Die von Minsky und Fillmore begründete Frame-Theorie hat seit ihrer Entstehung zahlreiche Wandel durchlaufen und unterschiedlichste Wissenschaften und Teildisziplinen beeinflusst. Aus philosophischer Sicht stellt sich die Frage nach Kohärenz und Einheitlichkeit: Gibt es Bestimmungsmerkmale, die sich alle Frame-Konzeptionen teilen und als Kernbestandteile der Frame-Theorie bzw. des Frame-Begriffs anzusehen sind? Der Beitrag geht dieser Frage aus historisch-systematischen Perspektiven nach. Minsky kann als derjenige gelten, der wesentliche Momente einer vereinheitlichenden Frame-Theorie eingeführt hat und dessen Aufsatz von 1974 den Übergang von der Vorgeschichte zu der eigentlichen Geschichte der Frame-Theorie markiert. Sein Frame-Begriff, bei dessen Einführung er sich u. a. auf Bartletts Schema-Begriff und Kuhns Paradigmen-Begriff beruft, steht für einen integrativen Ansatz, der die weitere Entwicklung prägt. Durch die Sondierung ausgewählter Vorgänger-und Nachfolger-Konzeptionen-u. a. von Fillmore und Bateson einerseits sowie Rumelhart, Charniak und neueren Beiträgen, etwa von Barsalou, andererseits-sollen Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede einschlägiger Ansätze vor und nach Minsky exemplarisch rekonstruiert werden. Im Zentrum steht dabei die Frage, ob bzw. inwieweit Minsky als zentrale Referenz einer im Kern einheitlichen Frame-Theorie anzusehen ist. * Wir danken Swenja Scheller für ihre Durchsicht des Manuskripts und für wertvolle Hinweise.
