Global knowledge mapping and emerging trends in research between spasmolytic polypeptide-expressing metaplasia and gastric carcinogenesis: A bibliometric analysis from 2002 to 2022

Abstract: BackgroundSpasmolytic polypeptide expression metaplasia (SPEM) occurs in the corpus of the stomach and is closely related to inflammations caused by H. pylori infection. Recently, SPEM was suggested as one of the dubious precancerous lesions of gastric cancer (GC). Thus, further research on SPEM cell transdifferentiation and its underlying mechanisms could facilitate the development of new molecular targets improving the therapeutics of GC. Using bibliometrics, we analyzed publications, summarized the research… Show more

“…The number of publications analyzed reflected the academic output of a country, institution, journal, or author in the H pylori -related PLGC research field. [ 21 ] The number of citations analyzed could indirectly confirm the academic influence of publications or authors in this field. [ 22 ] The impact factor (IF) and journal citation report were crucial indicators for evaluating the scientific quality and academic status of a journal.…”

“…In bibliometrics, network charts are frequently used to report the collaborations and cooccurrences involving the most active international entities across countries, research institutes, departments, authors, and keywords. [3,28,[46][47][48][49][50] However, these charts often suffer from unclear labeling and relationships between members. To address these limitations, this study will demonstrate the use of 5 CNCs in AI for critical care.…”

“…The figure illustrates 3 types of network charts used in bibliometric analyses: clusters [3,28,[46][47][48][49][50]52] (clusters are randomly scattered); circles [53][54][55][56][57][58] (members are grouped by cluster and bubble size), and chords [43][44][45]59] (similar to the circle chart with significant relationships between members). Readers will find that the CNC with a dashboard-type representation has a meaningful and clear interface.…”
